One of the must haves. March 20, 2009 Ms. Georgiana Em Gillis (London) 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
I bought this nightlight to use with my second child 6 years ago and loved it so much I've just replaced the bulb in order to use it with my third child due in a few weeks. So simple to use: touch sensitive dimmer and on/off switch (because let's face it when you're tired from looking after a newborn you don't need anything gadgety and over complex!)Auto fade function which gradually (and barely noticeably!) fades to off over 15 mins - something I used with my baby as she got older to help her fall asleep on her own. This product fills a need and it is definitely one of those 'must haves' for every nursery. N.B.Although the bulbs do last a while, it comes with only one replacement bulb. After some searching I found that Maplin's sell one that fits; a 25w E14 tube bulb by Orbitec.
a good purchase September 11, 2008 mummy (london) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
We have used this light every night since our daughter was born eight months ago. It has been great because it can be dimmed very low but just light enough to see into the room to check on her. It is also useful if she does occasionally need feeding or changing as I dont need to brighten the room any further to do this, so getting her back to sleep is a lot easier. It has been left on sometimes for over 15 hours and it is still cool to touch. We even took it on holiday with us as she seems to drift off to sleep so well with it! There is a function to automatically turn it off after 15 mins but I prefer to leave it until she has been alseep for much longer before I do this.
Brilliant buy! February 1, 2009 Joanne Carrighar (Manchester, England) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this night light because my 14 month old daughter had started to wake up during the night in tears. I couldn't find any reason for this, until i read one of my child development books which said that around 12 months of age some children can develop a slight fear of the dark, and will often wake in the night like they always have done but it has always gone unnoticed. Therefore, my daughter was waking up and realising it was too dark, and so began to cry. I must admit i was put off by the high price of this item, but having read the other reviews i decided it was worth a try. And i was right! This light has made a huge difference! It is a dimmer light and so i started off with it fairly bright, perhaps at half its intensity, and have slowly made it dimmer over the weeks. It now produces just enough light to stop the room from being dark, but not enough to make my daughter think its daylight!
This product also has an auto 15-minute shut off option where it goes off itself after 15 mins. I haven't used this just yet but i will be doing when my daughter is a bit older and i no longer need it switched on over night. A brilliant buy!
Very good December 28, 2009 Mr. P. G. Lording (Brentwood, Essex, U.K.) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very good product, would recommend. As for some reviews that say it's too flimsy and easy to knock over - may i introduce you to the wonderful world of blu-tac.
Children's Bedside Lamp December 21, 2009 C. Russell 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Excellent product. My 4 year old wanted a light for his room at night. The dimmer works brillantly and the amount of light at full strenght is very strong. I would highly recommend this product, much better than the small plug in night lights.
